Popular myths about cars that are still believed in
Often motorists are so sensitive to the process of warming up the car that they spend 20-30 minutes on this activity, even if they are late somewhere. However, they do not know that in order to fully warm up the car, it is not necessary to stand still — you can get behind the wheel and go about your business, maintaining a low speed for 2-3 kilometers. Believe me, this will be more than enough for the engine to warm up, and we are talking not only about new, but also about very old cars.
Different wheel pressures
Neglecting such an important parameter as tire pressure means putting your life at unnecessary risk. Even a slight difference between the pressure in the wheels can lead to a deterioration in the driving characteristics of the car, including handling. Naturally, it is not necessary that the pressure readings in each wheel match perfectly, but if there is a difference between them, it is better to compensate for it. Regularly measure the pressure in the wheels of the car — your safety depends on it.
The more wax, the better
To make the car sparkle in the light, many drivers use wax. At the same time, they believe that the more layers of wax there are on the body, the better. This misconception can have the opposite effect — the car body will become dull and worn in appearance. Moreover, after polishing, it is customary to remove excess wax with a cloth, therefore, by applying several layers of material to the body, you will simply waste it.
Belts are not required
Fortunately, this prejudice is not as popular as all the previous ones, but it is much more dangerous. Some drivers believe that airbags perfectly replace belts, but this is not the case — the fact is that the full disclosure of the first occurs exactly at the moment when a person encounters them. The seat belt, in fact, gives the pillows time to open. Thus, an unbuckled driver or passenger, in the event of an accident, can be seriously injured — everything will happen so quickly that the airbags simply will not have time to compensate for the consequences of the accident.
